Welcome to Moonrakers Roller Skating Club

Learn to skate with Moonrakers- a fun & friendly club for all ages and abilities

Family Fun Sessions

No General Skate on 2nd September – the team at Moonrakers will be busy in preparations for the Moonrakers competition 2023 and we can’t wait to welcome other clubs to our event!

Experienced Coaches

Whatever your age & ability, getting the most out of skating depends on the quality of coaching. Our coaches are experienced and accomplished skaters in their own right and have trained National champions and world-class competitors over a combined career of over 100 years! Coaching at the beginner level covers basic techniques and Federation of Artistic Roller Skating Grades. We make sure to include free time for having fun and developing confidence with disco & games. From Grade 4, skaters can start to learn Dance and Free and work towards competing in Artistic Skating.

Competitions

Each year Moonrakers selects a calendar of club-level, National and International competitions to enter. We encourage skaters to compete in their category of Championship and strive to represent GB should they place in the top 10. Not every skater will want to compete, however the overwhelming majority find it a lot of fun and a great way of measuring progress.

Sessions

Our Open Session is an everybody-welcome, family affair. From 2pm to 3pm at Marlborough Leisure Centre, the Open Session combines disco, games and Grades tuition for all ages, abilities and ambitions! As skaters progress through grades and show an interest in progressing to competitive artistic skating, they’ll be offered the opportunity to join the Club. At this stage, skaters need “proper” skates and club uniform to attend additional training sessions that cover the basics of dance & free skating for those keen to develop their skating skills further.
